Ein bekanntes Bild der Brüder Richthofen mit einer Fokker Dr.I im Hintergrund. Die ersten einsatzfähigen Fokker Dr.I trafen um den 20. Oktober 1917 bei der JG I ein, und Lothar wurde am 13. März 1918 verwundet und außer Gefecht gesetzt. Dieses Foto entstand daher zwischen diesen Daten und wahrscheinlich auf dem Flugplatz Avesnes-Le-Sec, den die Einheit vom 25. November 1917 bis zum 20. März 1918 besetzte.

Die neugestaltete Grabstelle. Quelle: BArch B II Richt 4. Im Jahr 1937 erfuhr die Grabstelle eine repräsentative Überarbeitung. Das Photo zeigt die neugestaltete Grabstelle, flankiert von zwei Angehörigen des Traditionsgeschwaders JG 2 "Richthofen". Der repräsentative Grabstein gelangte nach Auflösung des Grabes auf dem Berliner Invalidenfriedhof 1975 an das Jagdgeschwader 71 "Richthofen" in Wittmund.
