Event Narrative

‘Finally, on 23 April in the evening, soldiers find an English dispatch roll with a pennant near the airfield. It contains the message from the Royal Flying Corps that Rittmeister v. Richthofen had been fatally wounded in aerial combat and had been buried with military honours. On the same day, a Reuter report with the same content became known; now there was no longer any doubt.’
