Zwei Tage nach seinem Tod wird Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen mit allen militärischen Ehren (sein Sarg wird von gleich-rangigen australischen Offizieren getragen) in Bertangles auf dem Gemeindefriedhof bestattet.
